Board Meeting Minutes

May 10th, 2011

Saguaro Canyon HOA Board Meeting Minutes

Eric Rawlings – Welcomed 11 home owners in attendance along with Joe from Snake River and Robyn. Approval of minutes from last month.
Joe – Went over financials. Currently $218,900 in checking account, $75,500 in money market, 2 CD’s with $25,000. Total current assets $400,163.
Eric – Landscaping: Some trees were removed and replaced last month. Eric met with Idaho Landscaping and did a walk-thru. They are going to be removing some brush. The overgrowth needs to be trimmed  down.  They are adding more lighting to the front berm. They are also adjusting the watering so that we don’t over water again this year.  They are buying 15 more agave cacti to be replaced. Eric and Robyn motioned to buy them for $900.
Robyn – Social/Newsletter: Easter Egg Hunt went really well. We had a great turn out. Garage sale had good traffic. Need to get more traffic through the back of the sub for fall garage sale. Pool opening/cook-off scheduled for May 21st.
New Business
We are still trying to finalize the coloring for the fence stain.
Discussed the iron gates that are to the ‘common area’. They are not necessarily the Homeowners fence. Would HOA be in charge of fixing the fences if the gate breaks? David Fogg says it’s too much of a risk. Suggested having waivers signed.
We are still waiting on whether or not to have a pool monitor this year.
We will open the pool early this year for adult swim time. From 6am-8am everyday is now adult swim time. Joe has ordered 12 more chairs for the pool. 1 pool pump had to be replaced. We got a longer and sturdier pump that will hopefully last longer.
Once the wind dies down a bit the weeds on the vacant lots will be sprayed.
Old Business
Sign stands and inserts for the HOA have been ordered for $1250. Joe only ordered 2 for now.  No climbing signs have been ordered and will be placed shortly.
Pool cleaning contract will stay with Sister Sweeping.
Seat coat will be redone once the weather warms up.
Brad & Joe met with BHH regarding the building standard issues and landscaping. They have not been completing the fascia property and have suggested an alternative. We will look at the option and make sure it is up to our standards according to the CC&R’s. The rain guards have also not been done according to specs and we have asked for them to fix all the homes. The landscaping is supposed to be finished  by the end of this month.
Eric will put together a ‘planting instruction’ on the maples for me to post on the blog.
Meeting adjourned.
